Both Mark and Eric shared many anecdotes of staff working around the clock to fulfill these loans that saved hundreds of jobs in the area. In fact, Eric told the quick story of how one of his employees heard on the news that the PPP money was going to run out and subsequently rallied Erie FCU's loan processing troops to process a dozen more loans before the money ran out.
Speaking of the "money running out," Mark addressed how this depletion was a good thing for the program because it allowed the SBA to go back to the drawing board and make massive improvements to the process. As a result, the second round of PPP funding was a huge success. And, amazingly, there's still money left today for small businesses to use.
Great conversation with Mark and Eric on the power of working together to help others. Now it's on to the loan forgiveness process. Stay tuned for more on that.
