The League of Credit Unions & Affiliates’ President Samantha Beeler and GoWest Credit Union Association’s President/CEO Troy Stang joined us on the show for a 3-part series on how League and Associations' partnership with the Backbone coalition can elevate the credit union collective voice nationwide.

In part 1, Samantha and Troy talked about what makes being part of a coalition, whether a regional League or a national coalition like Backbone, especially important right now -- as well as how Backbone helps credit unions elevate their collective voice to spread their stories nationwide and drive the cooperative financial narrative.

They also stressed the need for proactive messaging to lawmakers and the public amidst a crowded media landscape, as Backbone serves as a key platform for uniting voices and resources. A unified approach to advocacy and storytelling is essential for credit unions to gain recognition in financial services.

Q&A summary
