Does Navy Federal Credit Union do anything on a small scale? Not these days. Various industry reports show that the nation's largest credit union looks to double in size over the next five years, reaching $120 billion in assets. One of the pieces of this goal concerns its growing Winchester Operations Center -- which the credit union plans to double in size, as well, with 1,400 new employees, new building on its campus, and a new parking garage to boot.
To get the inside scoop on these plans, we invited Navy Federal Credit Union Senior Vice President of Winchester Operations Susan Brooks on the show. Susan provided many details revolving around this business expansion to their operations center campus. This particular center has already grown significantly over the years from 60 employees in 2006 to more than 1,500 this year.
Obviously, this is is very exciting news for the credit union. But one of the interesting facets about this expansion is the government grant Navy Federal received to help with construction costs. So we asked Susan how this grant process worked and how other credit unions could leverage such grants in their growth plans, as well.
Super interesting conversation here. Check it out and let us know your thoughts.
