Continuing with our Finovate series, we spoke with Karmic Labs Co-founder/CEO Ryan Weidenmiller about his company's expense reports software, Dash, that removes the mystery of expenses. Dash's real-time expense tracking keeps tabs on things and is conveniently always right in the palm of your hand.

Some very cool tech for credit unions from Karmic Labs and many thanks to Ryan for being on the show to give us the inside scoop on how CUs can eliminate time-consuming expense reporting. Check it out and let us know what you think.

We recently visited with CSCU's SVP of Finance and Technology Tom Davis at the annual CSCU Conference in St. Petersburg, Florida, to discuss his take on emerging payments and where credit unions fit in this fast-moving market to remain relevant with their members. Tom, also known as the "Mick Jagger of Payments," provided some in-depth responses on this hot topic, adding the credit unions that want to be part of the "5,400" need to be active in this sector -- as well as leveraging their unique, collaborative environment to leap ahead of the competition. Check it out and let us know your thoughts on this topic.

From 30 feet underwater to drying out and rebuilding a shiny, new Financial Wellness Center, this is the resurrection story of McGraw-Hill Federal Credit Union's 55 Water Street, NYC, branch -- deluged from 2012's Hurricane Sandy. An inspiring story of how this credit union rebuilt and reopened to serve as example of resilience to its members.

To get the inside scoop on this amazing chain of events, we invited McGraw-Hill's CEO Shawn Gilfedder on the show. He provided us with the devastating details of destruction to the long road back to serving its members in a new and exciting way at 55 Water Street, building a Financial Wellness Center that houses the latest technology services and gadgets to serve its downtown NYC members. We also touched on what other CUs can learn from McGraw-Hill's return-from-the-great-flood experience. A wonderful story for sure. Check it out and enjoy.

#398: The Making of Greater Texas' Apple Watch Banking App with Malauzai's Robb Gaynor...

Last month we had Greater Texas Federal Credit Union on the show discussing the launch of its new Apple Watch banking app for those members who wanted to manage their finances from their wrist. In this episode, we have the makers of Greater Texas' Apple Watch banking app Malauzai Software on the show to discuss what it took to create this app before the Apple Watch was even released. A very cool behind the scenes anecdote with Malauzai's Robb Gaynor, which involved a trip to the Apple campus in Cupertino, CA, for tours and app testing.

Robb even revealed a surprising stat that of 10 the financial institutions launching an Apple Watch banking app to date, eight of those have been credit unions. Nice to see CUs leading the charge in this area. We also discussed how this app benefits credit unions, goals, and where this technology will go in the near future. Pretty fun story here with the folks from Malauzai, who also demo'd the app at Finovate's recent spring show in San Jose.

With mobile financial technology services moving forward at light speed these days, it's a bit of a challenge at times to keep pace with all the changes -- not to mention the technology driving the evolution of member needs. To get a grasp on mobile, we invited Mobilearth's Dave Richards on the program. But instead of looking at it from the consumer POV, we flipped it around provided it from your credit union's branch perspective. In other words, with today's technology leaps, your branch is no longer stationary. It's wherever your staff can go with a tablet, which enhances the visibility and value of your CU -- not to mention its cool factor.

Check out this conversation with Dave on how your branch can go mobile. Enjoy!
