In its "inaugural" year, the 2010 CU Water Cooler Symposium made quite the splash on the credit union conference circuit. Many of the industry's top thinkers and motivators attended this gathering in Fishers, Indiana, to network, brainstorm, and question the status quo -- all to spark new ideas that hope to light a fire under this sometimes sleepy industry. Conference founders Tim McAlpine (Currency Marketing) and Matt Davis (Filene) created this most-talked-about show that is sure to generate some major buzz once again this year (Sept. 29-30, 2011), as the speaker line-up gets more impressive by the week. We are very happy to have Tim on the program to get a preview of what attendees can expect from this year's anticipated event. It is sure not to disappoint. Check out the program and sign up!

With today's growing list of channels -- or areas of responsibility -- at credit unions, it's evident that somebody needs to manage them to maintain consistency throughout. Channels such as mobile, social media (new media marketing), compliance, fraud, etc. need to be managed to maintain clear communications at your credit union and GonzoBanker's Terence Roche provides us with some sound advice in this area many folks don't think about. As we sloooowly emerge from our economic woes, it's probably a good idea to get your channel management in line to hit the ground running. Terence does a fantastic job in letting you know how to get there -- and he will also be teaching this topic at the CUES School of Product and Channel Management in Chicago, Sept. 28-29, 2011. Enjoy the show!

That said, we are talking with San Diego County Credit Union's EVP of IT, CU Times 2011 Trailblazer Award winner and CUNA Technology Council Committee member, Heather Moshier, about her credit union's new tech service that allows multiple same day payments on the same screen. This solution has been written up in several of the industry trade magazines and some editors have called it "trend-setting" because it's so new and viable. So we thought we would talk to Heather and get the inside scoop on this convenient solution for members that could be quite beneficial for the industry. Check it out when you get a chance!
