CU NextGen’s Account Executive Annette McCullough and Implementation Specialist Rachel Arizola, and ELGA Credit Union’s RPA Implementation Manager Allison McCarty all joined us on the show to share their organizations' success story working together to enhance staff efficiency that has resulted in greater member service.

For example, Allison discussed how CU NextGen's technology (MRM for Credit Unions' six core modules) has allowed them to automate one particular process, fee redemption, which has saved those employees seven hours a week in manual tasks. That said, she also provided other examples on how the staff has benefited from the technology.

Annette and Rachel addressed how the organizations have tirelessly worked together to make these process enhancements, which will set the stage for future projects that will only increase the value of the credit union that much more for members.

Jessie Swendig, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Business Development at Texans Credit Union, joined us on the show to discuss Texans' recent logo redesign and the story behind the move.

First of all, Jessie addressed what sparked this idea to redesign the logo and what does it, ultimately, mean for the credit union -- dedication to being a financially sound while showcasing Texans' unique business model and its commitment to transformation and progress. And an ode to Texas Instruments, the credit union's original SEG.

She also talked about how she sees this redesign benefiting the credit union, as 90% of a brand's initial impact is attributed to its logo. Jessie also talked about what it conveys to members and potential members.

In addition to an AI update, they discussed some artificial intelligence pillars for credit unions: fraud and risk, marketing, member service, lending, and IT. Kirk and Chris also shared what they got right and what they got wrong in the book. Really fun part of the conversation.

They also addressed everybody's big question right now: How to get started?

Charles River CFO’s (CRCFO) Client Service CFO Tim Smith and Vice President Jack Sullivan joined us on the show to share how leveraging outsourced CFOs can help navigate a credit union's senior staff attrition -- and why it's a smart and economical  move for today's credit unions.

Tim and Jack talked about how big of an issue senior level staff attrition is in credit unions today, seeing a lot of turnover in the senior staff levels.

They also discussed what happens when a member of the senior staff departs — sometimes suddenly. Many times it can result in a near panic to quickly find a qualified person to fill those shoes.

Jack and Tim then detailed five reasons how outsourcing can help mitigate the effects of senior staff attrition -- even the sudden ones:
  1. Expertise on Demand
  2. Cost-effective solution
  3. Strategic focus
  4. Scalability and flexibility
  5. Continuous development

Elizabeth Osborne, Chief Operations Officer at Great Lakes Credit Union, stopped by the show to share her experience testifying on Capitol Hill before the House Financial Services Committee on usage of AI in financial services — focusing on the success of Great Lakes' conversational AI virtual assistant named "Olive.”

Elizabeth shared what she calls a once-in-a-lifetime experience presenting before this committee and how America's Credit Unions helped prep her for her testimony, as well as what she wanted to convey to the representative regarding AI and its potential in financial services. Olive's success story proves that it works really well -- even at this early stage.

She also talked about why the House Financial Services Committee needed this information for its research and why/how she was chosen to represent credit unions on this hot topic.

Lastly, Elizabeth commented on some of the follow-up questions from the bi-partisan committee -- with deep fakes being a big concern among those inquiries.
