Love My Credit Union video campaign
Credit Union Lending Exchange (CULE) Chairman and Partner Kirk Kordeleski and CULE Partner Michael Taormina join us to discuss the latest status on CULE and its connection with various, up-and-coming financial technologies, such as CULedger. It's a fascinating talk on how all these new technologies we've just started to talk about are converging -- and credit unions are leading the way.

In addition, Kirk and Michael discuss future technologies for credit unions that are just around the corner, as well as personal and student lending practices to expand your credit union's portfolio. Check it out when you get a chance and let us know your thoughts.

When we last spoke with Filene Research Institute's Managing Director of Innovation Andrew Downin about the organization's "Reaching Minority Households" incubator project at the 2016 ACUC in Seattle, this particular project was just starting to gain some steam. And now a few months later, it has more than 30 credit unions participating in the five programs credit unions can participate:

1. Community Microfinance Small Business Lending
2. Data Mined Auto Loans
3. Non-Citizen Lending Program
4. Payday Payoff Installment Loans
5. Q-Cash (watch our WSECU’s Ben Morales Talks Purpose Behind Q-Cash Financial for CUs)

In 18 months of testing/usage at the participating credit unions, Andrew says they will have the "winning" programs viable to become products at CUs nationwide. For more information, visit the Reaching Minority Households page on Filene.

Also, this incubator -- along with many more topics -- will be discussed at Filene's big. bright. minds. 2016 at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, Oct. 25-27, 2016.

With NAFCU's Congressional Caucus kicking off today, we thought it would be good timing to have NAFCU Director of Regulatory Compliance Brandy Bruyere join us to share a couple of concerns her organization has on the latest version of the Military Lending Act and what they meant to credit unions -- especially as the next deadline looms October 3, 2016.

Check out our conversation with Brandy and let us know your thoughts.

Love My Credit Union video contest
Up for an adventure? Based on the screenshot of our latest video, Best Innovation Group's (BIG) CEO/Founder John Best takes us on a wild ride -- and not just on Star Wars' Millennium Falcon.

John first provides a quick explanation on the inner workings of the much-anticipated CULedger project with which BIG is involved -- along with CUNA, Mountain West Credit Union Association, and a growing number of other credit unions, CUSOs, and vendors (PSCU, CSCU, etc.). CULedger is gaining some serious steam and John is in the middle of it -- as he is with most anything credit union technology related these days.

In the second half of our interview, please fasten your seat belts as John fires up his Microsoft Hololens and takes us on seriously riveting, virtual banking tour. This demo is nothing short of cool, as you get to see what he sees and how it all works with a wave of his hand. And this amazing interface/experience could be coming to a credit union near you in the not-too-distant future.

Check it out and let us know your thoughts. And if you are attending this week's Symitar Educational Conference and Technology Expo, John will be there with his Hololens -- and maybe the Millennium Falcon, too.
