Susan Langer, CEO & Founder of Spave, joined us on the show to talk about how they work with credit unions spending, saving, and giving back … and, more specifically: “Generational Purpose - how credit unions can deepen their connection with emerging consumers.”

Before we covered this generational purpose, Susan told us a bit about Spave, being a MSUFCU CUSO and winning FinovateSpring 2022's Best of Show .

She then discussed how they help credit unions deepen their connection with emerging consumers, helping them attract the next generation of members to get younger.

Susan also addressed why purpose-driven companies attract this younger demographic -- and why credit unions shoud pay close attention to this.

In closing, she shared with us other generational behaviors and perspectives as it relates to money that credit unions need to be aware of: spending, saving, giving -- all from their mobile.

In part 1 of 2, St. Cloud Financial Credit Union Chief Lending Officer Chase Larson stopped by the show to share his insights and experience working with cryptocurrency (since 2016) and why his credit union is all in on delivering digital asset services to its members -- because they're just going to go somewhere else and do it.

Chase explains what St. Cloud Financial is doing in these areas, which is beta testing new product for members for launch in early 2023.

In addition, he shares how they are introducing crypto to members via a ton of education to set them up for a successful product launch solution next year.

Chase also discussed the unspoken time crunch in getting these types of digital asset services launched and in use due to the competition working on it right now, as well.

Check it out and let us know your thoughts. And stay tuned for part 2 of our conversation, as we discuss how this new blockchain-based technology will change everything, how St. Cloud Financial is working with a very receptive NCUA, advice for other credit unions looking to get into this space, and much more.

Steve, Eric, and Jim started the conversation discussing the state of delinquency today -- as we never really saw the expected delinquency tidal wave during the pandemic. But, with today’s inflation, stimulus money ending, and next year's possible recession, these reasons and more may finally bring it on.

All three talked about how credit unions can be proactive and leverage data and today’s technology to get ahead of this looming trend -- and why it is significant for credit unions to be proactive in this area. (Jim and Eric provided examples of how they are being proactive -- as well as results from these efforts.)

We wrapped up this intriguing conversation with their thoughts on delinquency in 2023 and how they preparing for next year in this area.
