The National Credit Union Foundation (the Foundation) today announced 54 credit union leaders from across the United States were designated as Credit Union Development Educators (CUDEs) after completing the Foundation’s signature Credit Union Development EducationTM (DE) program in October 2025.

Delivered as an immersive week-long in-person event, the DE program is a unique, transformative training experience. It provides lessons in credit union structure, purpose and the “why” that differentiates credit unions from other financial institutions. Participants engage in small and large group exercises and interactive speaker sessions focused on the credit union difference, empathy, and financial well-being for all.

This class joins more than 3,300 credit union advocates from 35 countries who have graduated from the U.S. DE program since its launch in 1982.

“Congratulations to the newest 54 members of the DE family! For 43 years, the Foundation’s Credit Union Development Education program has existed to inspire and educate credit union professionals around our collective ‘why’ as a movement and the development issues that present barriers to financial well-being,” said the Foundation’s Executive Director Lauren Culp.  “Participants leave with a deeper understanding of how the credit union system can leverage its cooperative difference and help build stronger communities.”
