Chad Shane Canvas Credit Union, Colorado’s third-largest credit union, detailed its 2025 community impact efforts highlighting nearly $460,000 in donations, expanded financial education and thousands of volunteer hours in communities across the state. These efforts reflect Canvas’ ongoing mission to help Coloradans achieve wellbeing with financial stability as a foundation. In 2025, Canvas supported 335 nonprofit and community organizations through financial education, volunteerism, branch giving and Canvas Foundation initiatives. Combined, these efforts reached 49,911 people statewide. Financial education remained a cornerstone of Canvas’ community impact. The credit union delivered 307 Financial Success classes and seminars reaching 9,711 students, nonprofits and residents. Overall attendance increased by 11% from the previous year, reflecting strong and growing demand for accessible financial education. Canvas also hosted 84 My Future Money Life simulations for 2,065 students across 24 schools and three community partners. Post-class surveys showed 96% of respondents reported gaining valuable financial knowledge. “Financial education is about creating opportunity and confidence at every stage of life,” said Chad Shane, CEO of Canvas Credit Union. “In 2025, we continued to focus on high-impact partnerships and programs that help people move from uncertainty to long-term financial wellbeing.” Canvas expanded its education reach through new and strengthened partnerships, including a required financial education curriculum for all incoming freshmen at Colorado School of Mines, continued collaboration with Colorado State University campuses and expanded programming for older adults through the Summit Series. Digital education efforts also reached thousands of learners through EverFi and Banzai platforms. Community involvement extended well beyond the classroom. Canvas employees logged 3,863 volunteer hours in 2025, with 68% of employees participating in volunteer efforts across Colorado. Employees supported 41 nonprofit partners through food drives, blood drives, school programs and community events. Canvas also hosted 11 blood drives that collected 161 units of blood, potentially saving or enhancing more than 700 lives. Through branch giving, community sponsorships, scholarships and Canvas Foundation initiatives, the credit union donated a total of $459,875 in 2025. The Canvas Foundation awarded $81,000 in grants to 38 nonprofit organizations aligned with its four pillars of schools, family health and wellness, military and first responders. In addition, Canvas awarded 58 scholarships totaling $71,000 to students across Colorado. Signature fundraising and community events continued to grow in 2025. Canvas hosted two Hero Fest events that raised a record $28,000 to support first responders and their families. The annual Kick-Off for Kids campaign raised more than $41,000 for Children’s Hospital Colorado, while golf tournaments generated more than $79,000 in net proceeds for Special Olympics Colorado, scholarships and community grants.
