Chartway Promise Foundation, the charitable arm of Chartway Credit Union, continues to advance its mission of bringing joy, hope, and smiles to medically fragile children and their families through unforgettable experiences. Throughout 2025, generous corporate and individual donors, along with a series of successful fundraising events, helped the Foundation raise over $1 million. These funds, approved by the Foundations board and distributed in December 2025, will support the 2026 programs of a record, 33 nonprofit charitable partners, the most supported by the foundation in a single year. Of the 33 partners, ten are new, further expanding the foundation’s reach and impact. Since its inception in 2005, the foundation has granted $17 million dollars to its charity partners.

"Every year, our grants are a promise to families navigating some of life’s hardest moments,” said Christine Wilson, executive director of the Chartway Promise Foundation. “We’re grateful to stand beside our 2025 grant recipients as they prepare programs that will deliver that promise and bring memorable experiences to many more medically fragile children.”

“Each grant awarded is rooted in the belief that every child deserves moments filled with joy, hope, and smiles,” said Wayne Foshay, board chair for the Chartway Promise Foundation. “The growth of our grants program this year, to include ten new partners, reflects the heart and dedication of our community. It’s inspiring to see how many organizations will make a difference for medically fragile children and their families in the year ahead.”

“At Chartway, we take immense pride in the impact we make in the communities we serve. That commitment shines brightest through our Promise Foundation and the incredible partners who help us make a meaningful difference for children and families,” said Brian Schools, president & CEO of Chartway Credit Union. “The expanded reach planned for 2026, speaks to what can be achieved when people come together and we’re honored to help fuel that momentum.”
