Credit union ties CD rates to college basketball wins—and it's working

Philly-based Ardent Credit Union just launched a certificate product that pays members more when Villanova wins at home—and it's a blueprint for how regionals are rethinking deposit competition and NILs. 

The Slam Dunk CD offers 4.25% APY when Villanova Men's Basketball wins a home game, dropping to 3.90% APYafter a home loss. With the team's last home win on 11/15, the elevated rate is now live—and member response has been strong.
