The Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) proudly welcomes Desert Financial Credit Union as its newest member.

Desert Financial is a not-for-profit cooperative, founded in 1939 by a small group of Arizona educators and now proudly serves more than 500,000 members throughout the state. With over $9 billion in assets and a network of more than 50 branches plus digital-banking access, Desert Financial combines local roots with modern convenience. As Arizona’s largest locally-based credit union, it remains committed to “Sharing Success,” supporting members, communities, and team members through financial education, personalized service, and meaningful outreach programs.

“At Desert Financial, our mission has always been to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve,” said Ron Amstutz, Executive Vice President at Desert Financial. “Joining the Defense Credit Union Council allows us to expand that commitment to include our military members, veterans, and their families—communities that exemplify service, integrity, and resilience. We’re proud to partner with DCUC and join a network of credit unions that share our dedication to service and impact.”

DCUC President/CEO Anthony Hernandez added:
“We’re honored to welcome Desert Financial Credit Union into the DCUC family. Their long history of member service, community investment, and commitment to financial empowerment aligns perfectly with DCUC’s mission. Together, we’ll continue to strengthen the credit union movement and also ensure that those who serve our nation have access to trusted, value-driven financial partners.”
