Financial Plus Credit Union showcased steadfast dedication to the 2023 Pink Night Palooza
campaign benefitting local cancer patients. Through collective efforts of mini-fundraisers and employee
donations, Financial Plus raised $24,855.06 for Hurley’s Breast Cancer Navigation Fund.

Financial Plus and Hurley Medical Center hosted their 15th annual Pink Night Palooza on October 19th, 2023, with the annual campaign raising a total of $186,478 for local cancer patients through event sponsors, donors, mini-fundraisers, and the community. Pink Night Palooza returned to Downtown Flint at the Capitol Theatre with an afterparty held at Blackstone’s Smokehouse. Event attendees enjoyed a tasteful bra-artistry fashion show, a live auction led by Sheriff Chris Swanson and comedian Melissa Hager, an online auction, and more.

“We are grateful for our longstanding partnership with FPCU, together we have helped remove barriers to access to care for hundreds of individuals,” said Karima Amlani, President of the Hurley Foundation. “We look forward to working with our friends at FPCU and the event committee to get ready for another successful Pink Night Palooza in 2024!”

On October 6th, 2023 Financial Plus organized a successful Pink Bake Sale at all locations and garnered $4,572.29 from the support of members, branch employees, and donations. Financial Plus’s commitment extended to its second annual Banking to Beat Cancer fundraiser throughout September and October, resulting in a $3,826.77 donation to Hurley’s Breast Cancer Navigation Fund.

“I want to thank the community for your continued support for Pink Night Palooza, which celebrated its 15th consecutive year. It was a great night celebrating all of our communities’ continued awareness and generosity in supporting our friends and neighbors who battle all forms of cancer,” said Brad Bergmooser, Financial Plus Credit Union President and CEO.

Hurley’s Breast Cancer Patient Navigation Program is a vital year-round free service to help local men and women during treatment and recovery. The program identifies gaps within patient care and assists with financial hardships a patient might encounter, such as groceries, bill payments, treatment co-pays, medication, and wigs.
