Financial Plus Credit Union Offering Annual Scholarships for Students in Michigan

Financial Plus Credit Union’s “Reach for Success” Scholarship application period is now open and will award five students with a $1,000 scholarship. High school students graduating in 2024 with a 3.0 GPA, full-time college or university students with a 3.0 GPA, and students attending trade school can apply now until May 3, 2024.

The candidate must complete the application with a short essay (500 words or less) answering the prompt: Think about how ready you are for a successful money future, do you feel prepared, why or why not? Share one specific thing you wish you had learned about money earlier in life. Talk about how you're going to learn it now and how it can help you do well in the future.

“It’s a pleasure awarding 5 students with $1,000 scholarships, hearing their stories, and helping relieve any financial burdens and uncertainties they face. Financial Plus believes every student deserves the opportunity to attain higher education, no matter where they’re at in their education journey. We strongly encourage those in Michigan who are looking to advance their education to apply,” remarked Ciara Kolasinski, Financial Wellness Coach at Financial Plus Credit Union.

To apply for the scholarship, applicants must complete and submit the following; scholarship application, essay, letter of recommendation, and a transcript. Designated scholarship judges at Financial Plus Credit Union will review all scholarship entries and award the scholarship recipients based on attaining all eligibility requirements and essay content.
