Members First Credit Union (M1) partnered with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBank Indianapolis) to support Saginaw-Shiawassee Habitat for Humanity on a home renovation project that will soon provide a safe, welcoming home for a local family. The collaboration took place through FHLBank Indianapolis’ Unite for Impact program, a volunteer and donation match initiative that brings together bank staff and member financial institutions to contribute time, skills and resources that enrich neighborhoods and strengthen community well-being. M1 and FHLBank Indianapolis employees and community partners volunteered on site, completing hands-on renovation work including painting, hanging light fixtures, drywall installation and general cleaning to help prepare the home for its future owners. In addition to their time and service, the organizations also provided critical financial support. Through Unite for Impact, FHLBank Indianapolis contributed $3,000, which Members First matched — bringing the total donation to $6,000 in support of Saginaw-Shiawassee Habitat for Humanity’s mission to expand affordable homeownership opportunities. “FHLBank Indianapolis is proud to partner with Members First Credit Union and Saginaw- Shiawassee Habitat for Humanity through the Unite for Impact campaign to augment our member financial institutions -- community-based volunteer efforts,” said MaryBeth Wott, SVP, Community Investment and Strategic Planning Officer. “Increased homeownership opportunities for low- to moderate-income families in Saginaw is a win for us all.” The partnership between Members First and FHLBank Indianapolis reflects a shared commitment to strengthening communities, expanding access to safe housing and creating lasting, positive impact for local families.
