Rize Credit Union honors community advocates for expanding access and financial empowerment

​Rize Credit Union (Rize) recognized the Mid Valley Family YMCA and David Ford, senior government relations manager at Southern California Edison, with its Advocate of the Year Award for their efforts to expand opportunity and support communities throughout Southern California. The Advocate of the Year Award honors individuals and organizations whose advocacy, partnership and leadership help advance Rize's mission of empowering people to achieve greater financial security. The Mid Valley Family YMCA was recognized for its partnership with Rize in launching the Amigo Lounge, a community space designed to build trust and strengthen financial capability among local residents. Located within the YMCA, the Amigo Lounge gives individuals and families a comfortable environment with free WiFi and computer access to work, study or connect with one-on-one financial counseling. The initiative reflects a shared commitment between the YMCA and Rize to reduce barriers and increase access for members, equipping them with the tools they need to succeed.
 
Rize also recognized David Ford, senior government relations manager at Southern California Edison, for his longstanding support of the credit union and its mission. Ford has been a dedicated Rize member and advocate within the Edison organization, helping strengthen relationships, foster collaboration and identify new ways for Rize to better serve employees, members and the broader community.
