SUMA Federal Credit Union has partnered with Plinqit, the only savings platform of its kind that pays users for learning about personal finances, to give members an engaging, easy way to save and plan for future financial needs.

With more than $400 million in assets, SUMA FCU serves over 7,000 members across Yonkers and Spring Valley, New York, as well as New Haven and Stamford, Connecticut. For more than 55 years, SUMA FCU has remained dedicated to supporting the financial needs of its growing membership, many of whom are Ukrainian immigrants and parishioners of St. Michael’s Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church. The credit union proudly has a history of providing higher savings rates than other financial institutions and by partnering with Plinqit, SUMA FCU is able to make saving even more rewarding for members.

Plinqit provides SUMA FCU’s members a new way to save, plan and achieve their financial goals while boosting their knowledge of personal finances. Plinqit’s patented Build Skills™ allows SUMA FCU’s members to interact with content that builds their personal finance skills and get paid for learning new skills, growing their savings. Members can access Plinqit’s features with single sign-on through SUMA FCU’s digital banking platform because of Plinqit’s integration with Jack Henry’s Banno Digital Toolkit. For the credit union, Plinqit’s platform will help attract new members while fostering deeper relationships with existing members.

“SUMA Federal Credit Union was founded because there was a growing need for financial services that would improve the quality of life for Ukrainian immigrants who had settled in Yonkers after World War II,” said Roman Kozicky, President and CEO of SUMA FCU. “Our partnership with Plinqit expands on our original mission of helping members achieve their financial goals and promoting financial wellness in the communities we serve.”

“Credit unions are known for having strong relationships with their member base and SUMA Federal Credit Union has exemplified this for decades,” said Kathleen Craig, founder and CEO of Plinqit. “SUMA is an active supporter of local churches, Ukrainian youth groups and cultural organizations, and Plinqit is proud to partner with an institution that consistently strives to make a meaningful impact in its community. We look forward to supporting their members on the path to financial wellness while helping the credit union grow.”
