WEOKIE Federal Credit Union is delighted to announce its groundbreaking partnership with the newly opened Mexican Consulate in Oklahoma City to bolster financial literacy among the Hispanic community. This collaboration aims to provide essential knowledge and resources to empower individuals with the tools they need to achieve their financial goals.

“I am thrilled that WEOKIE is an inaugural supporter of the newly created Mexican Consulate in Oklahoma City,” said Jeff Carpenter, President/CEO. “Credit unions have a long history of helping consumers with limited access to reputable financial services and information. I am honored that we are able to support this important effort by providing education and information on resources to assist these new members of our community. To stand alongside the Hispanic community on this journey is a privilege, and we look forward to the positive impact we will create together.”

Understanding the significance of financial education and the challenges faced by many in the Hispanic community, WEOKIE offers free, comprehensive financial literacy programs. Every week, dedicated representatives from WEOKIE visit the consulate to present on a wide range of financial topics, carefully tailored to address the community’s unique needs as identified by the Hispanic Chamber.

Visitors to the consulate will have the invaluable opportunity to access the Ventanilla, a dedicated space within the consulate where individuals can seek additional information, guidance, and assistance on various financial matters. The Ventanilla serves as a hub for promoting financial empowerment and elevating the overall well-being for the Hispanic community in Oklahoma City.

“As a proud bearer of my Hispanic heritage, I find great pride in how WEOKIE embraces fresh possibilities,” said Rosie Rivera, Vice President of Branches. “WEOKIE is committed to empowering and supporting all diverse communities by ensuring they can realize their aspirations, from establishing an initial savings account to purchasing a first home. Being part of this dream is a privilege that fills me with honor and joy.”

Through this transformative partnership, WEOKIE Federal Credit Union and the Mexican Consulate envision a future where the Hispanic community in Oklahoma City thrives financially, embraces fresh possibilities, and achieves its dreams with confidence and financial wisdom.
