Vice President – Mortgage Lending
 
Wings Financial Credit Union is searching for a VP of Mortgage Lending to help create the fastest growing, most highly recognized and valuable consumer mortgage program in the Midwest, using leadership, technology and creativity to drive seamless experiences for members, world-class engagement for colleagues and five-star service results for everyone.  The VP is the strategic leader of the mortgage team, overseeing all mortgage operations at Wings.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops and directs organizational mortgage strategy and goals. Oversees mortgage business development, origination, processing, closing and servicing teams.
• Responsible for mortgage strategic planning, implementation and monitoring. Support and monitoring of corporate and department goals.
• Establish working relationships with brokers, realtors and other entities that partner and support the growth of mortgage lending.
• Serves as primary contact for all secondary market investors (i.e., FNMA), while maintaining a working knowledge of all requirements relating to originating and servicing of investor and portfolio loans.
• Develop, administer and maintain current policies, procedures and annual incentive plans for mortgage lending operations.
• Cognizant, attentive and engaged in mortgage pricing. Collaborates with CLO and Finance to support competitive pricing, while mitigating risk.
• Focus on recognizing and growing talents, and inspiring teams to add business value.
• Responsible for reporting and communication to various Wings committees.
• Ensure adherence to and accountability for mortgage loan underwriting, as well as quality control for mortgage lending department.
• Ensure accountability for maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and regulations concerning mortgage lending.
• Responsible for annual budget plan and mortgage production forecast. Also required to monitor and adjust forecast and reporting throughout the year.
• Continually review journals, publications, as well as attend and engage in conferences to keep current and informed of the mortgage lending industry.
• Represent Wings at conferences and meetings of professional associations, in addition to other networking professional opportunities promoting Wings.
• Maintain a wide variety of professional contacts within and outside the Credit Union to facilitate and partner with problem resolution, negotiation of agreements and achieving other objectives.
• Sell and cross-sell Credit Union products on a regular basis and have a good overall knowledge of products and services.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly manages 6+ department managers. Responsible for the overall direction, development, coordination and evaluation of the mortgage department (approximately 60 people).
 
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

• College degree in management, business or related area preferred; Management/supervisory experience required.
• 12+ years background in mortgage industry or related field and familiarity with regulatory requirements.
• Honed leadership competencies, including a servant leadership mentality.
• Knowledge of financial services and experience in mortgage lending at financial institution required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at the executive and senior leadership levels, and across functional groups and business units.
• Excellent analytic, organization, presentation and facilitations skills.
• Required to obtain or possess a Mortgage Loan Originator (“MLO”) unique qualifier (NMLS registration number). Must have the ability to successfully complete all MLO Registry requirements, including passing background and credits checks and submitting to fingerprinting and to any other requirements of the rules enacted pursuant to the S.A.F.E. Act.
