Finastra Managing Director of North America Mike Dionne joined us on the show to discuss how tech platforms are giving credit unions a fair shot -- leveling the playing field, if you will.

Some of the items we discussed included:
  • How are tech platforms giving credit unions a fair shot?
  • What type of tech are we talking about?
  • Tell us about “democratizing access to the expertise that large institutions have.” What does this mean to credit unions?
  • You mention three credit unions you work with (Trumark Financial, Central Florida Educators, Evansville Teachers) excelling in this area. Can you briefly share a couple of examples of what they are doing?
  • To wrap up, what advice do you have for credit unions adopting new technologies to level the playing field?

Check it out and let us know your thoughts when you get a chance.

  1. Strategy
  2. Solutions Design
  3. Experience

Sarah explains how these Councils work to benefit credit unions, leverage the credit union difference, what pain points they answer for credit unions, the ultimate goal for these Councils as they start to grow, and how credit unions can get involved with them today.

Push Payments CEO/CTO and Co-founder Travis Dulaney joins us on the show to share his thoughts on how real-time payments are providing credit unions with real-time relief these days. Travis explains the competitive advantage real-time payments provides a credit union with member retention and acquisition, as this trend continues to pick up steam nationwide.

Travis adds that it's all about businesses and consumers not having to wait for access to their funds. They can get it and use it immediately -- and that's huge in today's financial services environment.

Check it out and let us know your thoughts when you get a chance.

#900: ‘How I Got on the South Bay Credit Union Board’ — by Chris Otey…

You may recall our Studio Lounge interview with South Bay Credit Union President/CEO Jennifer Oliver and Board Chair Chris Otey a couple weeks ago from the CUES Symposium about how the two collaborated effectively on their successful digital transformation -- with amazing results.

After that interview, Chris and I got to talking about his own journey getting on South Bay's Board -- now as Chairman. It's an insightful and entertaining story that needs to be shared for others within the industry to volunteer their time to give back to their credit unions.

Chris has already had quite a career working for Fiserv, CU Wallet (LifeSteps Wallet), Credit Union 2.0, and now South Bay's Board Chair. Pretty cool. So take a look at it and let us know your thoughts. And what are you waiting for? Volunteer at your credit union today. Huge benefits for you and your credit union, as Chris has certainly discovered.
