Inspire Federal Credit Union Vice President Retail Banking Operations Ashley Poller and uncommn Founder/President/CEO Bo McDonald joined us to discuss Inspire FCU experiencing a stress-free and efficient website redesign with uncommn.

Ashley and Bo shared what made the all-too-often painstaking task of redesigning a website different in this case and the credit union's website went from an online brochure to an interactive tool that engages members and encourages daily visits.

They talked about putting the credit union back in control of the process, providing as little or as much support as credit unions need. Ashely stated that: “We feel like we’ve bought our time back” with the credit union's new website. She explained what that time savings means for them.

Ashley also shared how her credit union has benefited since the redesign, providing anecdotes and results.

Lastly, Bo explained what he feels makes a successful web designer — especially for today’s credit unions dealing with regulations, compliance, constant updating, etc.

Check it out and let us know your thoughts. And be sure to watch the entire episode below for all the details.

Andrea Brown, VP of Client Engagement at Lodestar Technologies, stopped by the show to discuss “Advanced Analytics” and how it hinges on transparency and partnership to be truly effective.

Andrea talks about Lodestar's Advanced Analytics capabilities having a number machine learning models built in. Those consist of:
  • Segmentation
  • Propensity/Next Best Product
  • Attrition
  • Engagement
  • Default Probability

She detailed how the segmentation model analyzes all of the data in a credit union's environment and then generates the number of segments that are most valuable for that credit union. For instance, one credit union may have five segments, another may have four or three, etc.

She shares examples on how to customize each model to meet a credit union's specific needs and data sets.

Andrea also talks about these models sitting on top of a credit union's data warehouse and the benefits of being able to update frequently – daily if it is appropriate.

Since these models are directly integrated with the data warehouse, she says the feedback loop is constant. Andrea expands on this integration.

Trellance’s Chief Sales Officer Patrick McElhenie joined us on the show to share six things standing in the way of a credit union's data-driven decisions.

Before we addressed the "six things," Patrick discussed how the journey to becoming a data-driven organization will look different for each credit union -- and, yet, the intention is the same at each.

Patrick also talked about why being data driven so significant for credit unions today, enabling them compete with larger financial institutions. He also looked at the converse of that -- why isn’t every credit union data driven?

That said, Patrick listed the six data challenges he is seeing today and why they are significant, as well as how credit unions can benefit by recognizing these challenges.

Lastly, Patrick provided a quick overview of Trellance's latest white paper: “How to Build Your Data Maturity Action Plan.” Check it out and let us know your thoughts. And be sure to watch the entire interview below for all the details.
