#139: Effective Statement Marketing Strategies with Doxim's Sean O'Donovan...

8/30/2012

On the surface, member statements seem hum-drum. Peeling a bit below that surface and it's anything but -- especially in a marketing sense. To me, statement marketing strategies are nothing short of fascinating. The idea that you can drill down to specific members and deliver specific messages to those very members is a wonderful thing for any credit union marketer who's looking to truly serve the individual needs of their members. To drill down on this topic much further, we invited Doxim's VP of Marketing & Products Sean O'Donovan. Sean was kind enough to come on our show and provide us with his statement marketing expertise and deliver some prime takeaways as well. Check it out.

#138: Don't be apathetic, be a credit union advocate at NAFCU's 2012 Congressional Caucus...

8/27/2012

With the Presidential election around the corner and the Congressional recess in a few weeks, now's the time for credit unions to step up and be advocates for their industry. They can do so quite easily by attending NAFCU's 2012 Congressional Caucus coming up September 11-14, 2012, in Washington, D.C. To get the inside scoop on this gathering, we spoke with NAFCU's Director of Political Affairs Katie Marisic. Katie provided us with all the show's events, speakers, and the many opportunities credit unions have to meet face to face with their representatives -- a perfect opportunity to plant the credit union benefit seeds so they take root prior to the electoral circus that's about to hit our nation's capitol in a couple of months. It was a pleasure having Katie on the program, as she delivered some fantastic takeaways on upping the ante on advocacy for this industry that does so much for others. Check it out!

#137: Generation Wyze pushes financial literacy via video for Gen Y crowd...

8/16/2012

We all know online video rules these days -- especially with the younger crowd. So why not create some financial literacy videos for this generation to get them engaged in credit unions. Well, one company has done just that -- and that is Generation Wyze. Generation Wyze is all about education, education, education through video to help teach consumers about various finance topics. Some of those topics include clarifying the difference between credit unions and banks, ID theft precautions, and first time home buyer advice -- and many more topics currently in production. We invited the company's Co-Owners, Becky Zemlicka and Justin Rogers, on the show to give us a little schooling on video marketing for Gen Y and how credit unions can benefit. Both Becky and Justin offer some excellent takeaways in fully leveraging this powerful medium. Check it out! (And pardon the sometimes questionable quality of the video, Skype was not on its best behavior this day. But Becky and Justin's message still resonates loud and clear.)
