Illinois Credit Union League President/CEO Tom Kane (and Envisant CEO) joined us on the show to discuss their annual social media blitz of #ILoveMyCreditUnion campaign, which will occur on July 29, 2022.

In its second year, Tom reminded us what the #ILoveMyCreditUnion campaign is and why they launched this campaign last year to leverage the power of social media.

Tom also shares performance numbers from 2021 -- the campaign’s first year with 22 million people reached. Joining in last year’s efforts were financial guru Suze Orman, actress/comedienne Sarah Silverman, and NFL quarterback Steve Young.

As an incentive for national engagement, a drawing was held for participating Leagues with the winner (Hawaii Credit Union League) receiving a $25,000 donation, sponsored by Envisant, to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital of their choice.

In addition, Tom talked about this year's expectations/goals, as well as visiting www.Ilovemycreditunion.social website post ideas for what you or your organization are doing to enhance.

New for the 2022 #ilovemycreditunion campaign is the opportunity for 10 participating organizations to win $1,000 as a donation to a charity of their choice.  Two simple steps are necessary to be entered into the drawing:
  • build a strong community engagement strategy campaign and
  • complete the form to share your plan by July 1!

Also this year, Leagues who register to participate by July 1 will be entered into another raffle for a $15k donation to their CMN hospital.

ReputationUs President/Chief Reputation Officer Casey Boggs joined us on the show recently to share the latest practices in active shooter preparedness for credit unions today. A horrific event that is happening all too often, credit unions, like organizations, need to keep alert in the area, as well.

Much like a robbery situation, Casey discusses what steps credit unions can also take to prepare and protect themselves in an active shooter instance, as well as the obvious significance on why a credit union embark on a preparedness plan.

In addition, Casey points out that there are two parts to an active shooter preparedness plan and what they consist of:
  1. Blueprint
  2. Training

Corelation22: Janning Delivers Captivating Keynote on Cancer, COVID, and 2 Good Dogs...

Andy Janning, NO NET Solutions President, stopped by the Studio Lounge to share highlights from his heartwarming keynote: "Cancer, COVID, and 2 Good Dogs: Lessons from the Worst Best Years of My Life."

Andy's roller coaster talk had the conference audience laughing, crying, applauding, and laughing and crying some more, as he shared his life's events over the last couple years since his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. If that wasn't enough, then COVID hit, and, as he says, so did 90% of his income.

So when life dealt Andy and his family with lemons, they got very busy and made some serious lemonade. But the journey from lemons to lemonade was where all the magic happened -- even if it was full of peaks and valleys that only people like Andy and his wife and two teenage daughters could weather and come out on the other side incredibly stronger.

From this journey, Andy ultimately started "End Terminal Debt," an organization that looks to prompt financial institutions to forgive the debt they hold for every current customer and member, especially African-Americans, with terminal cancer. Here are a few numbers to ponder:
  • $105,000 -- Average annual medical cost for a patient with terminal cancer.
  • 4,250,000 -- Approximate number of Americans with terminal cancer.
  • 73% -- Percentage of cancer patients who experience catastrophic financial trauma because of their diagnosis.

Yet another captivating talk from Andy Janning -- one of our industry's best. Check it out and let us know your thoughts. And be sure to check out more Studio Lounge interviews from Corelation's 11th Annual Client Conference.
