When I think about the growing number of CUSOs within the credit union industry today, I remember that old Apple commercial about their new (at the time) app store and the saying was: "There's an app for that." With so many CUSOs cropping up today to help credit unions with just about any scenario, one could modify that old Apple app store tagline to say: "There's a CUSO for that."

Indeed, there are more and more CUSOs today -- with more launching all the time -- to help credit unions manage various issues, trends, operations, and more. But the growing number of these credit union-owned organizations can be overwhelming. That's why we invited Capstone Managing Director & Partner John Dearing and Great Lakes Credit Union President/CEO Steve Bugg on the show to share how their two organizations have worked together to make Great Lakes' CUSO journey more effective.

Steve shared how Great Lakes has worked with Capstone to make that journey incredibly beneficial, which has allowed them to have more focus and clarity on which CUSOs to work with — and how to work with them (partnering or investing). Their recent success has proven that this collaboration has worked very well.

In addition, both Steve and John discussed how CUSOs can be a growth vehicle for credit unions — whether they are partnering with them or investing in them -- or both. They shared key learnings, usage of CUSOs, investments in CUSOs, and much more.

And John wrapped up the conversation, providing CUSO growth tips for others in the credit union community.
