South Bay Credit Union President/CEO Jennifer Oliver and Board Chair Chris Otey visited the Studio Lounge to discuss successful working strategies between CEO and Board Chair. Specifically, they talked about the decision-making process for new projects -- such as their new pop-up branch that opened in a WeWork-type office environment (episode #1024).
Jennifer and Chris both stressed on having a "fail forward fast" culture that doesn't fear failure. In fact, there are a good number of projects that don't make it off the ground, but the lessons learned are incorporated into the next one that turns into a huge success. This "let's try this" process is baked in to the work environment, which makes it exciting and enticing for both staff and members. Tons more takeaways in this very candid conversation with Jennifer and Chris. Check it out and let us know your thoughts. Back to Symposium interviews page ![]()
Nutmeg State Federal Credit Union President/CEO John Holt stopped by the Studio Lounge to discuss how technology and relevance work together to keep credit unions in the forefront of financial services for consumers.
For example, John discussed how Nutmeg State's recent implementation of DMV outlets within two of their branches has been a massive success. He also touched on how decisions like this are presented to the credit union's Board for consideration and application. Great chat with John on a pretty timely topic. Check it out and let us know your thoughts. Back to Symposium interviews page ![]()
