BankLabs President/Co-founder Matt Johner visited the show to discuss how credit unions can approach small, underserved segments of the market to become more competitive and attract new deposits and members.
But before he addressed the "how," Matt shared the types of underserved segments of the market credit unions should pursue. He used the construction industry’s $11.4 trillion a year loan revenue as an example throughout the conversation. Matt then explained how do credit unions approach these segments and how will they ultimately benefit approaching these new segments -- as well as sharing other credit unions doing this today with great success. Check it out and let us know your thoughts.
Capstone Managing Director John Dearing joined us on the show to discuss the details of his recent CUinsight article: “Is your credit union ready for the next recession?”
Before we got into credit union readiness, John addressed what is the likelihood of another recession and why? Then he outlined what credit unions can do to prepare themselves for this next dip in the economy, which looks like will occur later this year or early 2020. In addition, John talked about a credit union’s competitive advantage being increasingly important with the next recession looming, as well as how a credit union's digitization being a differentiator to combat an economic slow down. Check it out and let us know your thoughts.

Ryan shares what’s on the docket for 2019:
Ryan also discussed how the new Congress will affect advocacy efforts this year -- as well as working with CFPB's new Director Kathy Kraninger. As always, great conversation with Ryan. So check it out and let us know your thoughts.
