GoWest Credit Union Association President/CEO Troy Stang, joined us on the show to share his insights on CFPB's recent report showing credit unions' not-for-profit, member-owned, cooperative structure delivering lower rates than other financial institutions.

Troy talked about what this report means for credit unions and how they should leverage this information when getting their message out to the masses and their local legislators.

He also added, with America's Credit Unions' Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) around the corner, how he sees the timing of this information being beneficial for credit unions as they "Hike Capitol Hill" next week.

Lastly, Troy commented on the importance of "relationship banking" for credit unions — especially as one of its differentiators, which the CFPB sees.

Troy also mentioned his interview with ABC 15 on this topic. Here's the link...

Prizeout’s David Metz stopped by the show to share the big launch of their CashBack+ for credit unions — a new white-label solution that enables credit unions to offer members a suite of cash-back products. David added that Cashback+ essentially helps credit unions boost their non-interest income and offer new benefits to their members, so both parties greatly benefit.

David said that CashBack+ was created to give credit unions the tools to compete with big banks and help their members put money back into their pockets with every purchase.

The technology that makes CashBack+ click seamlessly integrates with credit unions’ online banking systems, enabling them to offer members access to a wide range of national and local brands through a digital marketplace.

For credit union members, David added that CashBack+ offers the option to purchase digital gift cards with cash-back offers. The cash back is available instantly and can be used to purchase another gift card or deposited into the member’s bank account.

Cashback+ is already in use at several credit unions nationwide and CUbroadcast will have them on the show to share their experiences using this technology. Stay tuned!

In the meantime, check out our conversation with David and let us know your thoughts. And be sure to watch the entire episode below for all the details.
