Ok, the headline is a bit cheesy, but it seemed semi-appropriate with all the cannabis talk we've been hearing the last year or so as more states consider legalizing pot -- which means big business. And with big business, somebody needs to help manage the money that will be generated. Credit unions could be the ideal connection -- which is why we invited cannabis expert and author Bruce Barcott on the show to see where the future lies.

As you can see, Bruce has written a book, Weed the People: The Future of Legal Marijuana in America, on this topic and we wanted to get his take on where credit unions fit in this mix. Bruce also wrote a story that was featured on the cover of TIME Magazine earlier this year entitled: "The Highly Divisive, Curiously Underfunded and Strangely Promising World of Pot Science." So he knows a bit about the business of pot ad remains neutral as to its legalization. But the real story for CUs is divulged in our intriguing chat. Give it a listen and let us know your thoughts.

Alright, let's state the obvious here: the sun is bright, my San Diego Chargers stink, Donald Trump's hair has a life all its own, and Filene Research Institute rocks. Let's focus on the latter, shall we.

Filene recently announced the success of its "Underbanked Services Incubator," which it launched early last year, to come up with some innovative products that can help underbanked consumers nationwide -- and have credit unions deliver those products. After 18 months, 42 credit union participants, and five products, Filene has two really viable products to unleash across the nation for consumers whether they bank at a credit union or a bank.

We invited Filene's Chief Knowledge Officer George Hofheimer on the show to divulge those two products -- along with the impressive results garnered from them.
