It's that time of year again when the Daytona 500 of credit union conferences approaches (CUNA's Governmental Affairs Conference) with all the other esteemed events that surround the industry's biggest gathering in our nation's capital.
One of these surrounding events stands above the rest when it comes to honoring what credit unions do best -- and that's serving others with great passion and humility over the long term. This event is the National Credit Union Foundation Dinner presenting the Herb Wegner Memorial Awards, which takes place at the Washington, D.C. Marriott Marquis, Monday, March 11, 5:30 to 8:30-ish p.m. The Foundation’s Executive Director Gigi Hyland and VISA's Head of Community and Regional Accounts Doug Leighton joined us on the show to share what makes this must-attend event so special each year. We also discussed how VISA’s partnership with the Foundation and the credit union movement has resulted in a myriad of success stories -- one of those being The Cooperative Trust's Crashers program, created by Filene Research Institute. We circled back to the awards and Gigi and Doug shared who's being honored this year:
Should be another amazing evening honoring credit unions' best. If you haven't registered yet, click here for ticket information and we will see you there. Comments are closed.
