The 2012 Governmental Affairs Conference seemed to be a huge success this year. Not only was the weather spectacular -- with the cherry blossoms in full bloom -- but the show was just as impressive. Sure the GAC always has great speakers and presenters, but I'm talking about the atmosphere. The optimistic vibe at this year's GAC seemed to boost tenfold from last year's positive turnaround. So I meandered about the D.C. Convention Center talking with the attendees about their encouraging experiences at the 2012 GAC, along with their outlook for the rest of the year.
I must also add that Plan B (TMG's Jeff Russell will be proud.) came in handy this year as my fancy handheld mic went kaput, so I had to use the back-up lapel mic -- which worked very well but looked kind of odd during the interviews. Also, I had a new camera at the show this year that I was still getting used to. So forgive me if a few shots are out of focus or strangely framed. Overall, the interviews were quite informative and upbeat. Once question that I asked most of the interviewees was what would their message be if they presented to all the GAC attendees. I received some very interesting and insightful responses. Check it out! What was your experience at this year's GAC? Visit: CUNA.org 2012 Governmental Affairs Conference Comments are closed.
