Even though the legalization of marijuana has been sweeping the nation for a few years, it's still very new to surrounding businesses -- credit unions included. With that "newness" comes many firsts -- which just happened to Element Federal Credit Union.

Element is the first credit union (and financial institution) in West Virginia to be selected to serve the medical marijuana industry since the state legalized it (medical) in 2018. We invited Element's CEO Linda Bodie on the program to discuss this first for their credit union and what it means to begin serving this new business sector.

In addition, Linda talked about how the selection process came about for Element, why Element was selected over everybody else (including a big bank), how will the credit union handle the impending growth, goals to accomplish, some advice on getting into this business, and much more.
