As the gents from Monty Python used to say: "And now for something completely different ... " In this case, the completely different is news not including anything about coronavirus.

To the rescue are the fine folks from Desert Financial Credit Union raising $505,000 for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals from their annual fundraiser/golf tournament that they just got in under the "Shelter-in-Place" wire on March 2. These funds will to support the 1 Darn Cool School at Phoenix Children’s Hospital (PCH).

Desert Financial 's EVP Ron Amstutz joined us on the show to provide all the details and talk about how the credit union also donated $500,000 to local food banks, amongst other charitable efforts in the last month or so.

Refreshing news, indeed, as we know, all too well, that credit unions nationwide are still giving back to their communities in big ways -- even during challenging times. Thank you, thank you for all the incredible work you do.
