Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union CEO John Felton and Director of Community Development Candace Peterson joined us on the show to share how they are fostering their financial literacy efforts within their membership through its established, Kids Credit Union program, where children in 2nd grade are asked to save $200 and children in 3rd grade are asked to save $300. The credit union then pays an aggressive dividend rate on their goal. Here's the kicker: When the kids graduate from high school, they will have saved up $10,000.

If that wasn't incentive enough to save and learn more about finances, Southern Chautauqua -- in true credit union form -- recently took their efforts to a more digital level and added Zogo's financial education app to complement its already successful financial literacy program.

Both John and Candace explain how the app and the program work together, share feedback from members, admit that it's not just for kids, and so much more. Really a great conversation on how heavily involved Southern Chautauqua is in its community's schools.

Check it out and let us know your thoughts -- as well as what your credit union is doing in regards to financial literacy efforts for members.

Thought this was very interesting. I have not used Zogo but we do have the majority of the schools in our area using Banzai.
