I'm still trying to wrap my head around this one. If you think your credit union has been through a doozy of a core conversion lately, wait 'til you hear this one.
The story goes, if I'm not mistaken -- and the folks at Vibe Credit Union and Corelation will surely correct me, Vibe merged/partnered with Oakland County Credit Union back in January 2019 and ran on two legacy core systems for 20 months while they searched for a new core processor.
After a lengthy search, Vibe choose Corelation's KeyStone core and commenced with its plans to convert not one but both legacy systems and then bring it all into one core processing system. If this feat wasn't extraordinary enough, they committed to undertaking this monumental task during the pandemic -- conducting everything remotely.
Are your nerves frayed yet?
Not looking to back down from a challenge, both Vibe and Corelation forged ahead with this complex project. But I'm going to let Vibe's President/CEO Allan McMorris tell the rest of the story and let he and his team bask in the light of being one of the industry's latest trailblazers when it comes to core conversions.
Definitely an amazing accomplishment by both organizations, which obviously took a ton of planning, testing, and much, much more to make this unique conversion a smashing success. Check it out and let us know your thoughts.
