Most if not all of us know that banking mergers are on the rise -- especially coming out of the pandemic, as business kicks back into gear. But it appears these mergers may be falling short in a particular area: data integration between the merging entities.
To find out why this is happening and what can be done about it -- because mergers are going away anytime soon, we invited Backbase SVP for Americas Vince Bezemer on the program. Vince discusses the significance of this failure, as well as a solution to this problem.
He also addresses how M&A consultants have been looking at this problem from the wrong angle, how financial institutions can effectively visualize and organize the various moving pieces of their technology architecture post-merger, and the importance of building digital equity — not only to ensure strong post-integration outcomes but also to become a dominant player in an increasingly consolidated space.
Check it out and let us know your thoughts. And watch the entire episode with Vince below for all the details.
