It's that time of the year, again, when another crop of talented credit union professionals can take the reins of their careers and participate in CUES Emerge program -- an emerging leader program that combines online learning, peer collaboration and an exciting competition component. Already open, this program is taking applications until February 14, 2022.

For details on Emerge and what contestants can expect, we invited Currency Marketing Founder/CEO and Emerge architect Tim McAlpine and CUES Vice President of Membership Jimese Harkley (who won the competition in 2015) on the show. Both Tim and Jimese shared benefits of the program (tons of free education worth thousands of dollars), how to apply, awards, history of success, industry connections, and much, much more.

“We are pleased to see CUES Emerge going into its third year. The tremendous accomplishments of our previous participants is gratifying, and also encouraging, as it makes us strive to improve the program each year. With CUES Emerge, it’s clear we are developing the leaders of tomorrow,” said John Pembroke, CUES President/CEO.

The program, which was developed in partnership with Currency, combines online learning, peer collaboration and an exciting competition component where participants will apply their learning and develop a business case to drive innovative ideas in their credit union and communities. The participants who complete the course work and business case in full will earn the Certified Credit Union Manager designation in recognition of their strong commitment to their career, credit union and the industry.

Participants can self-select into the competition phase for a chance to present their business case in an online pitch show. The ultimate winner, chosen by a panel of judges, will be named the CUES 2022 Emerging Leader and receive an educational prize package.

Any current credit union employee who has not yet reached the C-Suite level is eligible to apply to this free program.

Check it out and let us know your thoughts. Be sure to apply before February 14! And watch the entire interview below for all the details.
