There have been plenty of companies in the headlines as of late discussing the four-day work week or altering work schedules to accommodate employees in these changing times. On that same tack, Allegacy Credit Union has altered one of its workdays -- Fridays, implementing a new organizational policy called "No Friday Meetings."

Allegacy's President/CEO Cathy Pace joined us to provide details on this policy that was enacted in January 2022. Cathy shared that "No Friday Meetings" means there are no in-house, official meetings between employees on Fridays. This policy allows the credit union's staff to reassess the previous week, plan for the next week, use that day for creative projects, catch up on other items, etc.

She also talked about how it has benefited employees so far -- and how those benefits have been passed onto their members. Lastly, she discussed what she and her team hope to achieve with this policy, as well as providing advice for other credit unions looking to do something similar.
