Former CUNA Chief Advocacy Officer Ryan Donovan joined us on the show to share the big news about his next career move as the Council of Federal Home Loan Banks' new President/CEO. These moves are always bittersweet, as it's sad to say good-bye, but, at the same time, you couldn't be more happy for one's next adventure in their career.

This scenario is certainly true of Ryan. He is not only colleague and friend to everybody he comes across, but he's a true advocate of credit unions and its altruistic mission of people helping people. So, naturally, we had to have Ryan on the show to get the details of his new role at the Council of Federal Home Loan Banks (FHLBanks).

For starters, we had to ask him what exactly is the Council of Federal Home Loan Banks -- as well as responsibilities in his new leadership position as President/CEO. Fortunately, this organization works with credit unions. So Ryan will not stray too far from the industry and will still visit from time to time.

We then switched gears and discussed his time at CUNA, where you spent nearly 15 years (since 2007) first as Executive Vice President and most recently Chief Advocacy Officer. Ryan shared some highlights during his time there and a few accomplishments, categorizing his CUNA experiences into three buckets.

He also talked about what he will miss the most about CUNA, working so closely with credit unions on a daily basis and what advice he would you give the next Chief Advocacy Officer.
