#566: How Pioneer WV's Dan McGowan Engaged His Staff to Turn Around his CU...

Pioneer WV Federal Credit Union was on the verge of a massive downslide at the turn of the decade with employees disengaged, a lack of leadership, and members starting to leave for other FIs. It wasn't looking good and action needed to be taken quickly.

With certain collapse looming, the executive suite was overhauled bringing in fresh new talent. One of those new faces was Dan McGown, now the credit union's CEO. With new leadership in place, along with a novel outlook on how to treat and respect employees, Pioneer WV started to experience a turn around of all turn arounds.

According to Dan, it all stemmed from engaging employees and making them a part of the process, giving them a voice, incorporating accountability, and rewarding them accordingly. What resulted is a wonderful story that continues to blossom today.
