Sharing information, resources, even technology for the industry's great good is pretty unique to credit unions -- and it's pretty cool, too. So how about upping the ante and sharing a core processor? This idea has been around for a while, but one CUSO has managed to actually successfully execute on it -- sharing its new core processor between three credit unions: Aspire Federal Credit Union, Credit Union of New Jersey, and United Teletech Financial Federal Credit Union.

As a result, a new CUSO was born called Member Support Services (MSS) that manages this breakthrough cooperative effort and looks to expand this idea nationwide in the near future. But first it had to get over its first hurdle with implementing, managing, and maintaining the one core between three credit unions -- which all started in 2014. Fast forward 2016, MSS garnered a NACUSO New CUSO of the Year award because of the idea's cool factor, how it meshes perfect with the credit union mission, and how it has been successfully executed.

To get the details of this undertaking and the pure emotion of their win, we invited Aspire's President/CEO Tom O'Shea and MSS President/CEO Bill Arnold on the program for a candid chat. Obviously, Bill and Tom are two very happy people, as they should be with all their recent success. But it hasn't been without a lot of hard work, paving the way for something greater in the future.
