Credit unions are always looking to partner with local organizations to give back to their communities. It's in their blood. So every now and then we enjoy bringing a few of these ventures to light -- perhaps sparking a new idea or two.
We invited SECU Foundation Executive Director Jama Dagenhart on the program to share one of the Foundation's latest give backs to local schools. Jama (pronounced JAY-ma) explains why SECU Foundation has partnered with local solar firm NC GreenPower to enhance renewable energy efforts at area schools.
In addition, she shares how the partnership works, the multitude of wins and benefits all parties receive from their philanthropic efforts, goals for this venture (and they are lofty), and advice for other credit unions looking to do something similar to make a big impact in their communities. Suffice to say, there's loads of upside with this generous partnership.
Enjoy our conversation and let us know your thoughts.
