There's rarely a dull moment in Washington, D.C. these days, and the folks at NAFCU are right in the middle of it all with government shutdowns, ADA lawsuits, winter "bomb cyclone" storms, and much, much more.
To get the latest on the shutdown and lawsuits, we invited NAFCU EVP, Government Affairs and General Counsel Carrie Hunt on the program. First, Carrie provided some positive news that not only has the shutdown been lifted but how credit unions were helping their members who were directly affected by it.
We then discussed in detail the latest on the law firm attacking credit unions with a barrage of ADA lawsuits. Carrie provided reasons why they are doing this, how it adversely impacts credit unions dealing with the lawsuits, what are the compliance rules in this area (if any), how credit unions can educate themselves on ADA website litigation, and much more.
Check it out and let us know your thoughts.
