In our continued coverage of the recent Underground Virtual Collision event, SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union SVP, Organizational Performance Kevin Martin provides a powerful talk on racial injustice -- particularly police brutality. Kevin explained that when he grew up, the mantra was: if the police are involved something bad happened or something bad is about to happen.

He also talks about his feelings when he first heard about George Floyd: angry, scared, and disappointed. But he offers solutions that can come from open and transparent conversations -- sometimes tough conversations.

Beautifully said, Kevin. I applaud your brave approach to give it people directly going forward, and the risks you are willing to take with this method. You are absolutely correct when you mention vulnerability, because it is an essential emotion required to place ourselves in the shoes of others and move forward!

I never thought Kevin ever thought about when the police were behind him and it’s great that he said that cause he makes it known that no matter how far you’ve come or how accomplished one is our skin color is still the starter of most problem starters. Even if we are driving legit as possible taillights tags self driving cars if we are black we have to defend that.
